Save The Date – June 7, 8 & 9th, 2013

We are thrilled to announce AnandaFest 2013, the weekend of June 7, 8 & 9th! Building on the success of our first year in 2011, our team has found a breathtaking 70 acre property at the base of the Niagara Escarpment located in north Burlington, Ontario at Camp Sidrabene. 2013 will boast incredible teachers, workshops, performers, vendors and we are working hard to make the second festival even more special. Unrestricted access to attend all of the yoga classes, speakers, music performances, camping on the premises, and workshops over the entire three days are all included in the price of your ticket.

Finally, Canada has a homegrown outdoor yoga festival & retreat which features spiritual stewardship, bhakti, connection and so much more. There are designated camping areas, plenty of onsite parking, an in-ground swimming pool, walking trails, creek side meditation and yes, children are welcome. Many other surprises, and the official lineup will be announced in February. I’m very excited to safe_image.phphave “Nataraja” featured in this weeks New World Kirtan podcast alongside the inspirational Jai Uttal, MC Yoga, Swaha, Brenda McMorrow, SRI Kirtan, Leelah & Mercury Max. Nataraj is the dancing form of Lord Shiva. Usually you see this depicted in bronze as the god Shiva dancing in a circle of flames, his foot crushing a demon that symbolizes ignorance. It is said that Shiva can dance gently or violently… NWK Podcast

Thank you studios, friends, vendors & Yogafest for all of your support last fall. What a year this has been, one to not ever forget. A portion of album sales was donated to The Red Cross. A cheque went to the local domestic fund to support my home town, and a second to international relief to support communities abroad…

What a journey this has all been, and the work is just begining, in service, to support the great organizations who lead through inovation to give back to so many in this world…

Bobby & I were so pleased with the support from all of our friends, family, and the yoga community across Southern Ontario who made it out to our special cd release evening which took place at a packed Eatalia, in my home town of Burlington, Ontario. Thank you everyone for sharing the love with us back in April!

We officially released our album produced by Ben Leinbach in California, on Tuesday March 27th, and the first run of discs were sold in 3 days! Thank you for all of the support friends, listeners and yoga studios. The music is available through iTunes, and CD Baby.Through the power of the internet, we have been receiving digital downloads from all over North America, and as far away as The UK, Germany, South America & Korea!

Krishna Das‘ online radio station has mentioned that they will include the music, which streams on Sirius Xm & through the net, we are so honoured to be a part of his station. Bobbyji and I have been invited to perform at Bhaktifest in both California & the US Midwest, and are thrilled to be a part of the community alongside so many artists & teachers, and share the music internationally. Our cd release evening is scheduled for Thursday April 26th @ Eatalia from 7:30-10:30pm. This evening is more of a thank you to all of the people who have helped make this journey possible, please join us for some great food, music, and celebration. The intention has always been to share music of the heart, and this continually unfolding journey has been such an incredible experience. Thank you friends, and those who enjoy the music – you make this possible…

California was absolutely the trip of a lifetime! Sunshine, driving the coast, visiting giant Redwood trees in the northern part of the state, and stunning Napa Valley – what a time! Tracking the music went incredible, and Ben Leinbach was amazing to work with for three weeks. Special guest appearances include Sabrina Marcantonio on vocals for the track “Fly Away – Govinda Jaya Jaya (Moksha Sqaure One) and Genevieve Walker of Krishna Das was able to join us on a rare day off from her busy touring schedule, to grace us with her incredible gift as a violinist.

We stayed on our new friend’s houseboat Josh, which was actually owned by Tupac’s mom years back, she was our neighbour – I guess that is California, stars everywhere. Our friend Tania was the perfect guide to show us around a good portion of the northern part of the state, and we are truly grateful to our new found friends. The album artwork is in, and the production process has begun, so we are expecting a Tuesday March 20th release date. Stay tuned for the many cd release events that we have planned, and we cannot thank everyone enough for all of the support on this journey..
